[@Mechanism of SIDS: A New Hypothesis@]
In hyperthermia (heat stroke) caused by high-temperature environment or disturbance of thermolysis, the thermogenesis of infants is suppressed to make core body temperature lower. An infant in hyperthermia(heat storke) is in sleep, decreases body movement, relaxes the muscles, and sweats. Those behaviours are the mechanism itself of thermoregulation of infants. An Infant in heat stroke sleeps more deeply than usual, as a result, his/her respiration is more inhibited and hypoxemia is advanced gradually. The hypoxemia of the infant is more advanced, adding increased oxygen consumption in high-environmental temperature. For the infant in such conditions mentioned above, the catecholamines are suppressed and it causes cardiac dysfuncion.
